Prof. Dr. Iraj Hashi
Prof. Dr Iraj HashiMBE (BSc, MA, PhD)

Professor Iraj Hashi is Emeritus Professor of Economics at Staffordshire University, Stoke on Trent, United Kingdom where he has been working since 1978. In addition to his teaching and research duties at the University, he has been actively engaged in teaching, research and consultancy in Central and East European transition economies since 1992. He has worked with universities and research institutions in Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Czech Republic, Kosovo, Macedonia, Poland, Romania and Russia on a range of projects dealing with economic challenges of transition in these countries. His recent research has focused on the internationalisation of SMEs, innovation and SME performance, Spillover Effects of FDI, innovation, and entrepreneurship and economic growth.

Professor Hashi has worked with a number of Universities and research institutions in Kosovo since 1997 (Riinvest Institute for Development Research, Universities of Prishtina, Peja, Gjakova, Gjilan and Ferizaj, UBT and Riinvest College) in the framework of the European Commission’s Tempus and Erasmus+ Programmes. He was also the coordinator a major MSc and PhD scholarship programme funded by the Open Society Foundation, Staffordshire University and the British Government’s Chevening Programme, providing opportunities for young graduates from South East European countries to complete MSc and PhD degrees in Economics at Staffordshire University. A large number of participants in this programme were from Kosovo, and worked as University professors, Government Ministers and Advisors, researchers in the Central Bank and other public and private institutions in Kosovo.
In 2007, he was awarded an MBE for ‘services to higher education and economic reconstruction in Kosovo’ by H.M. the Queeen of the United Kingdom. In 2015, he was awarded the Presidential Medal of Merit from the President of the Republic of Kosovo for his ‘services to higher education in Kosovo’.

Janos J. Bogardi is senior fellow of the Center for Development Research and professor of water resources management of the University Bonn. He is senior scientific advisor of the Institute of Advanced Studies Köszeg, Hungary and fellow of the Stellenbosch Institute of Advanced Study. He is Distinguished Adjunct Professor of the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT, Bangkok). He is member of the Board of Directors of the International Business College Mitrovica.
He was executive officer of the Global Water System Project. He served in the UN system as director of the United Nations University (UNU) Institute for Environment and Human Security and as Vice Rector a. i. in Europe and as Chief of Section in the Division of Water Science of UNESCO. He was chair professor of hydrology, hydraulics and quantitative water resources management at the Wageningen Agricultural University and served as associate professor at AIT. He had research and consulting appointments in Europe, Africa and Asia. He graduated at the University of Technology Budapest and holds a doctorate in water resources engineering (Dr.-Ing.) from Karlsruhe University and three Dr. honoris causa distinctions.

Prof. dr. Marjan Dema, Rector
Prof. dr. Marjan Dema, was born in Klinë on 27.05.1957. He holds PhD in Mathematics and Natural Science from University of Prishtina.
Prof. Dema joined University of Prishtina, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Science in 1981 as assistant professor of Descriptive Geometry. He rose to the academic ranks to full professorship in 1994 and after that he was selected as Vice Dean of the Economy Faculty from 1996 to 1998. From 1997 to 1999 he was professor at the Faculty of Economy in the University of Tetovo, FYROM. From 2002 to 2005 Prof. dr. Dema was professor in” Midwestern Baptist College’’, in Pontiac, USA.
In 2005 he continued his academic career at the University of Prishtina, teaching at Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Faculty of Agriculture and Veterinary, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering.
From 2006 to 2009, Prof. Dr. Dema was appointed as Vice Rector for resources and infrastructure at the University of Prishtina. In 2009 he was Acting Rector of the University of Prishtina. From 2009 to 2012 he was Member of the Steering Council of the University of Prishtina.
From 2006 to 2012, he held several leading positions in the UP, such as Vice Rector for resources and infrastructure (2006-2009), Acting Rector of the University of Prishtina (2009), and Member of the Steering Council of the University of Prishtina (2009 to 2012).
His publications are related to the mathematics for high school texts, university texts for Descriptive Geometry, Mathematics for Economics, Tests for Classification Exams.
Prof. dr. Dema participated in several scientific conferences, such as in Oakland, ACA in Rochester Hills, USA, Austria, Kosovo, Albania. In addition to his research area, Professor Dema published several scientific papers in International journals. In 2016 Prof. Dr. Marjan Dema is appointed as Rector of the University of Prishtina.
